In January, 2011 we were nominated and picked for the KKBN Goodie Award

Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Goodie Award Winner:  Here’s the nomination letter…

I’d like to nominate Kathleen Hill for the Goodie Award.  She has managed in times of trouble to think of others in need before herself.  She delivered a son August 2009 prematurely.  He weighed 2 pounds.  8 months and 3 surgeries later he was able to come home to her care.  She spent many days and nights by his bedside in the Neonatal Intensive Care unit (NICU) at Children’s Hospital in Oakland.  Being a NICU parent herself, she understood the devastation a parent can undergo in such circumstances.  Today she has joined “Project Sweet Pea”.  This is an organization that provides “care packages” to NICU parents.  She is the only program leader in California and has started her project titled “Owen’s Miracle”.   From donations, she is able to deliver care packages to NICU parents.  She understands their plight and wants to ease some of their burden.  She is very deserving of the award
